In the previous entries, we have discussed some of the things we should remember when it comes to finances of a fundraiser concert. One of which is the artists fee. The reason why we shouldn’t have expensive artists is because we are trying to avoid lots of internal discussions and detailed planning on how to make enough profits. Keeping it low would enable us to focus on why we are raising fund. We wouldn’t want a concert that has profits way less than the expenses. We won’t go through the whole process of organizing a concert if this is so.

The previous entry gives us tips about the finances when it comes to the artists. Now, we will deal with other financial concerns. You must generate an ad revenue which is equal or approximately equal to the projected ticket sales. You must also generate an online count of tickets sold and ad generated. This way you would know if you are doing well or not. It is also a great idea to put up donations boxes. You must strategically place them in entrances, food stands, along the hall and other entry points. By doing this, additional funds and also the audience will be reminded of the cause of this concert.

In starting a fundraiser concert, finances are of course important. Above all, the point is raising funds, not losing them or just giving a free show. So we have to consider a bunch of do’s in setting up out own concert. First is, start small by having a small concert. The artist fee should be as low as possible because you will be spending also on the other logistics. You should also check if the fee for the artists is required before the day of the concert or after the concert. This will allow you some room to make adjustments on the accounting and ticket sales.

I came across this internet article about the do’s and don’ts of local concert festivals. In this entry, I would like to share the do’s and don’ts in a Budhafest which is a local music festival. Most of them are funny. Here goes.
Do’s
- Do tell the guards at the gate that you’re with “the band” and you’ll get in free and get a good parking spot.
- Do endure outrageous stage antics that liven-up the monotony of 20 metal bands one-after-another.
Don’ts
- Don’t forget to have security backstage.
- Don’t book a band unknown to an entire state as a headliner.

Anything can happen in a concert. Different things can be thrown randomly, or icky stuff hurled at anybody, rock stars wrecking instruments, and even people fainting. Accidents can also happen like fire. If you are attending a concert on enclosed places such as bars, it is important to know the exits. It is better to position yourself near them as to escape right away and not be stranded by the bottleneck effect. We must remember that in fire accidents in concerts, people die not because they got burned, but they die because they weren’t able to get out on time and got suffocated.

Concerts are usually jam-packed and when you get nearer the concert stage it gets wilder. If you don’t want you toes to be murdered, don’t wear footwear that would expose your delicate toes. I went to a concert once and I wore sandals, and lesson learned, my toes were murdered. Also, we should wear something that wouldn’t hurt us if it gets dirty or damaged due to the stomping in concerts. Or, if you still decide to wear your white sneakers, you can put it on display for proof that you went to that concert. Better, just show them concert battle scars (murdered toes).
