The annual Cochella Valley Music and Arts Festival which is scheduled for April 17, 18 and 19 next year has big names and a lot of music band, talents and just about anybody who knows a thing about music and the arts celebrates their love for the festive event. The open fields of Southern California, just keeps getting bigger and better every year with The Killers, Paul McCartney and the Cure as some of the coming year’s big names that have said they would be participating in the event. Though one of the fastest growing medium for news and music, the organizers in the hopes of lessening the impact of the event on the environment (it has been found that a single search on Google consumes enough energy to boil two cups of tea), organizers would rely less on the medium in support of the drive to save energy. To boost the environmental concerns, a contest for recycling is to be held in support for the festival with tickets to the event as prizes. The “Up Close & Personal Tour,” captioned by R&B-Pop stars Chris Brown and Ne-Yo revolved into the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Orange County, California, on Fri., Sept. 29, 2006, and the show absolutely did not disillusion.
Both Brown and Ne-Yo put on shart, lively performances. And yet the Hip-Hop acts who opened the show – including Lil’ Wayne and Dem Franchize Boyz – put on enjoyable shows, in spite of Hip-Hop artists being infamous for poor live performances.
Regardless of talk before the tour that Chris Brown and Ne-Yo would be “co-headling” the occasion, it’s clear that Brown is the true headliner. Not only was his name was the only one appearing on the venue’s marquee, but it was his name that every time got the loudest response from the mostly teenage, female crowd when the the performers’ names were announced by the show’s host in between acts.
